The 2026 edition of the Growth Asia Summit in Singapore will spotlight metabolic health and weight‑management strategies, featuring insights from Malaysia’s Alpro Pharmacy and China’s BYHEALTH alongside a roster of regional and global nutrition experts.
Returning to Marina Bay Sands after its record‑breaking 2025 edition, the Growth Asia Summit gathers industry leaders, academics and policy makers to dissect the fast‑evolving Asian market. Over three days (July 8‑10) the programme will map opportunities across protein innovation, infant nutrition, active nutrition, healthy ageing and more, while also showcasing emerging start‑ups.
Two of the summit’s highlighted tracks focus on metabolic health and weight management—areas that have gained urgency as Asian consumers confront rising rates of diabetes, obesity and stress‑related disorders.
Kai Jia Chua, Professional Care & Development Manager at Alpro Pharmacy, will present “Eating Smart in a Carb‑Heavy World: Sustainable Approaches to Glycaemic Control.” Alpro Pharmacy, a chain of over 300 outlets in Malaysia and nearly 200 in Indonesia, launched Malaysia’s first diabetic‑friendly sourdough and a line of low‑GI foods in 2024. Chua’s session will examine whether slowly digestible carbohydrates and low‑GI diets can be sustained long‑term, and how fibre‑enriched ingredients might improve carbohydrate quality for everyday consumers.
Kelvin Zhang, Head of Marketing at BYHEALTH, will discuss the cascade from metabolic disruption to elevated cortisol, sleep disturbances and weight gain. He will also preview BYHEALTH’s upcoming product line aimed at mitigating these effects in the Chinese market, illustrating how supplement manufacturers are responding to the growing demand for stress‑ and metabolism‑focused solutions.
The summit will also feature David Foreman, who will explore the health benefits of glucagon‑like peptide‑1 (GLP‑1) and the role of nutraceuticals in supporting its secretion, with particular attention to gut‑microbiota interactions.
Dr Suman Mishra from the New Zealand Institute for Bioeconomy Science will present research on how fruit structure, composition and dietary fibre influence digestion and blood‑glucose responses, reinforcing the potential of whole‑food strategies in metabolic health.
Beyond the metabolic‑health focus, the agenda includes senior executives from PepsiCo, Mondelēz International, Kirin Holdings, Calbee, Blackmores, Haleon and many other leading firms. Academic voices such as Dr Teena Badshah (PepsiCo) and Dr Dominic Lomiwes (New Zealand Institute for Bioeconomy Science) will add scientific rigor to discussions on product innovation and consumer health trends.

Asia’s rapid urbanisation, shifting dietary patterns and heterogeneous regulatory environments create both challenges and growth potential for nutrition companies. By concentrating on metabolic health—a driver of consumer purchasing decisions and public‑health policy—the Growth Asia Summit offers a timely forum for stakeholders to align product development with emerging scientific insights and market demand.
