Agri Intex is Tamil Nadu’s largest agri-business exposition, organised by CODISSIA at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore. The 2024 edition will run from 16 to 20 August and is expected to draw more than 250 exhibitors and over 150,000 visitors from across India and overseas. Framed as a five-day “farm-to-fork” showcase, the fair brings together progressive farmers, agri-start-ups, research institutes, input manufacturers, machinery makers, food processors and institutional buyers on a single platform. The 2024 theme is “Smart Technologies for Sustainable Agriculture”, reflecting a shift toward data-driven, resource-efficient farming. The indoor and outdoor display areas are grouped into eight zones: seeds, fertilisers and crop protection; micro-irrigation and water management; farm machinery, drones and robotics; post-harvest, cold-chain and packaging; organic, hydroponic and vertical farming; agri-fintech and market-linkage services; animal husbandry, poultry and aqua culture; and food processing, nutraceuticals and branded retail. A concurrent conference hall hosts 40 technical sessions led by scientists from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, ICAR institutes and multinational R&D centres. Confirmed keynote speakers include Dr. S. Ayyappan, former Director-General of ICAR; Dr. R. Jagadeesha, Dean of TNAU Coimbatore; and global precision-agronomy experts from Israel and the Netherlands. Daily panel discussions will cover climate-smart varieties, drone-based crop health analytics, biological inputs, carbon credits and export compliance. A dedicated start-up pavilion will pitch to investors, while a “Farmer Scientist Interactive Corner” offers free soil-testing and pest-diagnosis. Machinery demonstrations on an adjacent 5-acre field will show laser land levellers, AI-enabled transplanters and electric tractors. Government departments and NABARD will run on-the-spot subsidy facilitation counters, and leading banks will approve Kisan Credit Cards within 30 minutes. Student visitors can enrol in micro-credential workshops on hydroponics, fertigation and agri-drones. The fair is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; entry is ticketed and includes access to all seminars and demo fields.
