IG China – International Green Industry Expo is the country’s flagship annual gathering for carbon-neutral technologies, clean manufacturing and circular-economy finance. The 2024 edition will be held 10-12 September at the Nanjing International Expo Centre in hybrid format: 15 000 m² of live exhibition, five parallel summits and a digital platform that streams all key sessions for 72 h. The organisers – China Council for International Investment Promotion and the Green Development Committee – expect 25 000 registered visitors, 400 exhibitors and 180 speakers from 30 countries. The three-day programme is built around six thematic tracks: advanced photovoltaics & energy storage, green hydrogen & fuel cells, smart grids & digital energy, low-carbon building materials, new-energy vehicles & battery recycling, and carbon-capture, utilisation and storage. Each track opens with a policy keynote by ministries or the Jiangsu provincial government, followed by technical deep-dives led by corporate R&D chiefs. The plenary “Carbon Neutrality by 2060” forum on 11 September will gather Zhang Jiutian, vice-chair of the National Expert Panel on Climate Change; Francesco La Camera, director-general of IRENA; and Jennifer Granholm, U.S. Secretary of Energy, to debate financing models for the 100 GW annual renewable rollout. A parallel CEO round-table limited to 120 participants will match Chinese grid operators with European technology suppliers for joint-venture negotiations. The exhibition is divided into national pavilions (Germany, Denmark, Finland, Canada) and corporate zones where CATL, BYD, LONGi, State Grid, Siemens Energy, Schneider Electric and BP will debut next-gen sodium-ion batteries, 800 kW super-fast chargers, AI-driven EMS software and zero-carbon steel samples. A dedicated start-up alley, judged by Sequoia Capital and CICC, will award RMB 1 million to the top three cleantech scale-ups. Side events include investor match-making, an ESG disclosure workshop co-hosted by the Shanghai Stock Exchange, live safety demos of hydrogen valve standards, and a student car-shell recycling hackathon. The expected outcomes are 50 signed MoUs, USD 2 billion in preliminary project financing and the release of the 2024 White Paper on Green Trade Barriers.
