The China International Beauty Expo, better known as CIBE, is Asia’s largest and longest-running beauty trade fair, held biannually in Guangzhou every spring and autumn. Founded in 1989, the 2024 autumn edition is scheduled for 1-3 September at the China Import & Export Fair Complex, occupying 300,000 m² and expecting 4,000-plus exhibitors and 460,000 professional visits. The platform is strictly B2B: attendees must be beauty-sector professionals who pre-register with trade credentials; general consumers are refused entry. The audience spans cosmetic brand owners, OEM/ODM factories, packaging suppliers, ingredient providers, distributors, agents, chain pharmacies, spa owners, investors, and domestic and international media. The exhibition is organised in vertical halls: colour cosmetics and skincare, nail and lash artistry, hairdressing and barbering, aesthetic medical devices, private-label manufacturing, packaging design, supply-side ingredients, and new beauty-tech start-ups. A parallel “Beauty Trends Park” stages live product launches, while country pavilions from Korea, France, Japan, Australia, Italy, and ASEAN clusters showcase cross-border innovation. More than 100 industry associations and 1,200 KOLs are enlisted to scout trends and broker deals. The concurrent CIBE Congress runs a three-day programme of 80-plus conferences and workshops. Confirmed 2024 speakers include Luca Pizzaroni, global colour director of L’Oréal; Dr. Shuliang Jiang, president of the China Personal Care Association; Professor Xiangdong Kong, dermatology chair at Peking Union Medical College; and influencer-entrepreneurs Li Jiaqi and Austin Zhang. Agenda highlights are the Global Cosmetics Regulatory Forum, China Cosmetics Scientific Research Summit, Post-pandemic Retail Reinvention Workshop, Sustainable Packaging Hackathon, and live tutorials on “skinimalism,” men’s cosmeceuticals, Halal beauty standards, and AI-driven shade-matching. Accreditation points for mainland beauticians and dermatologists are granted by the Ministry of Human Resources. Evening networking events include the CIBE Beauty Awards gala and a buyers’ cocktail cruise on the Pearl River. The fair operates on an in-person format; no virtual booths are offered, but keynote sessions are live-streamed within China via Douyin and WeChat Channels. Visitor registration closes 24 hours before opening day; badges are collected on-site with passport or national ID.
