The China International Natural Gas & Pipeline Exhibition (CINGEXPO) is the largest dedicated gas infrastructure show in Asia, held every two years in Xi’an. The 2024 edition, scheduled for 19-21 September, expects 800 exhibitors and 30,000 professional visitors from 50 countries. Organised by China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau and supported by CNPC, Sinopec and CNOOC, the fair occupies 50,000 m² of the Xi’an International Convention & Exhibition Center and is staged entirely on-site; no virtual component is offered.
The event targets project owners, EPC contractors, pipe mills, equipment manufacturers, service companies, financiers and regulators active in long-distance transmission, city-gate stations, underground storage, LNG liquefaction, regas terminals and industrial distribution. More than 300 buying delegations from provincial gas groups, municipal utilities and state energy bureaus have pre-registered.
Live demonstrations occupy two outdoor pads: a 1 km loop of 1,422 mm pipe with automatic ultrasonic welding, and a 5 MW hydrogen-ready micro-turbine package. Inside, a dedicated “Future Gas Tech” zone hosts 120 start-ups showcasing drone-based leak survey AI, blockchain gas metering and graphene anti-corrosion coatings. A two-day career fair expects 2,000 engineering graduates to meet recruiters from 60 companies.
The exhibition’s stated goals are to accelerate China’s 2025 target of 160,000 km of long-distance gas lines, promote domestic substitution for high-end valves and compressors, and cut methane intensity 50 % by 2030. Networking features include a presidents’ round-table, Belt-and-Road procurement match-making, and site tours to the nearby Qinling underground storage cavern.
