The 25th China International Optoelectronic Exposition, better known as CIOE 2024, will be staged 11–13 September at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. Held under the theme “Innovation Driven, Application Empowered,” the fair is Asia’s largest full-spectrum optoelectronics gathering, occupying 12 halls and 240,000 m². More than 3,700 exhibitors from 30 countries will display chips, components, modules and complete systems that stretch from deep-UV to THz, while 120,000 professional visitors—R&D directors, procurement executives, system integrators, telecom carriers, device makers and venture investors—are expected to source next-generation solutions. The concurrent congress programme features 90 technical summits and 800 invited talks. Plenary speakers include Academician Gong Qihuang of Peking University on nanoscale silicon photonics, Prof. Lan Sheng of Tsinghua on lithium-niobate modulators, Dr. David Huang of Intel on co-packaged optics, Dr. Radhika Nagarajan of Lumentum on 800 G datacom lasers, and Dr. Chen Jiaren of ZTE on 6G photonic wireless convergence. Key topics are high-brightness EUV sources, CPO/NPO for AI clusters, 400 G/800 G/1.6 T pluggable transceivers, LIDAR-on-chip for autonomous mobility, wafer-level AR waveguides, GaN-on-Si micro-LED mass transfer, and terahertz sensing for biomedical imaging. A three-day investment road-show pairs 300 start-ups with venture funds, while job fairs target 5,000 optoelectronics graduates. National pavilions from Germany, Japan, South Korea, the U.S. and the U.K. will highlight export-grade precision optics, crystals and vacuum coatings. The event is in-person only; overseas delegates must present business credentials for badge collection. Concurrent contests—the 2024 Outstanding Optoelectronic Product Award and the LIDAR Innovation Cup—will announce winners during the opening ceremony. CIOE 2024 is supported by the China Optical Society, SPIE, OSA and IEEE Photonics Society, and is accredited by UFI.
