The China International Tire Expo (CITEXPO) is Asia’s largest dedicated tire and wheel trade show, held annually in Shanghai. The 2024 edition will take place on 4-6 September at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre, bringing together more than 450 exhibiting brands from 25 countries and an expected 18,000 professional visitors. The show is strictly in-person; no virtual component is offered. Organisers position the event as the fastest route into China’s aftermarket and a global sourcing hub for OE fitments.
Exhibitors cover every link of the value chain: passenger-car, truck, bus, OTR, agricultural and aircraft tires, plus aluminum and steel wheels, rim strips, valves, balance weights, tire repair materials, molds, curing presses, testing equipment, software and trade services. The 2023 floorplan filled four halls; 2024 will expand into a fifth hall to house first-time pavilions from Italy and Pakistan.
A 90-minute Global Tire Sourcing Summit runs parallel to the show. Confirmed 2024 speakers include senior purchasing directors from Volvo Group, Ford Otosan, Peugeot Citroën DS China, the China Rubber Industry Association and the Tire Industry Association of Sri Lanka. Topics on the agenda are: regionalisation of supply chains after the EU CBAM carbon levy, China’s new mandatory rolling-resistance and noise limits, and the shift toward 18- and 19-inch plus-sizing in electric vehicles.
Evening networking functions include a “Meet the Retreader” reception hosted by the China Retread Association and a wheels-only cocktail hour organised by the Wheel & Rim Association of Australia. Visitor registration is free to trade professionals who pre-register; on-site tickets cost RMB 200. The show is closed to the public; business cards are inspected at the entrance.
