The Zurich Marató Barcelona Expo-Sports Visitor Area is a free-access, two-day exhibition and activity fair that runs parallel to the city’s popular marathon weekend. Designed for runners, families, coaches, health professionals and anyone interested in active lifestyles, the event occupies Hall 8 of Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue on Friday and Saturday before race day. More than 70 brands present the latest technical apparel, nutrition, wearables, training platforms and recovery services, offering exclusive marathon-week discounts, product testing and on-the-spot gait analyses. A central stage hosts a rolling programme of short talks, stretching sessions and cooking demos led by sports dietitians. Visitors can book free 15-minute appointments with physiotherapists, podiatrists and mental-skills coaches in the “Runner’s Clinic” area, while youngsters take part in mini-races and obstacle circuits in the Kids’ Zone. The organisers, the Fundació Barcelona Olímpica, emphasise sustainability: exhibitors must comply with zero-single-use-plastic guidelines and a garment repair-and-donate station diverts textiles from landfill. Entry is by pre-registration online or walk-up QR code scanning; peak hours are managed through colour-coded time slots. The fair is open 10:00-20:00 Friday and 09:00-19:00 Saturday, with last admission 45 minutes before closing. Baggage storage, changing rooms and a mobile-charging lounge are provided.
