The 2024 Fastener Expo Shanghai, staged 5-7 June at the National Exhibition & Convention Center, is Asia’s largest dedicated gathering for fastener and fixing technology. More than 800 exhibitors from 15 countries will occupy 50,000 m², presenting carbon-steel, stainless, non-ferrous and high-tensile fasteners, precision formed parts, assembly tools, inspection machines, surface treatment and logistics services. Organisers expect 28,000 trade visitors, including purchasing teams from automotive, construction, aerospace, electronics, energy and rail OEMs as well as distributors and stockists. A two-track conference runs alongside the show: the Global Fastener Summit explores supply-chain resilience, carbon-reduction pathways and trade policy, while the Technical Theatre offers case studies on anti-seize coatings, hydrogen-embrittlement prevention and smart factory retrofitting. Notable speakers include senior engineers from BYD Auto, China Railway Rolling Stock, Boeing Shanghai, Bosch Rexroth and the China Fastener Industry Association. A new Fastener & Fixing Technology Match-making programme arranges one-to-one meetings between accredited buyers and exhibitors, supported by an AI recommendation engine on the show app. The Fastener Innovation Awards, judged by an international panel, will unveil winners in corrosion resistance, lightweight design and digital traceability. A live demo zone lets visitors test robotic tightening cells, optical sorting systems and thread-forming torque analysers. The concurrent Heat Treatment & Surface Engineering Zone highlights low-temperature plasma nitriding and zinc-flake coating lines.
