The International Conference on Geographical Information Systems Theory, Applications and Management, GISTAM 2026, is a meeting point for researchers and practitioners to address new challenges in geo-spatial data sensing, observation, representation, processing, visualization, sharing and managing. The conference is organized by INSTICC, a member of various associations, and will be held in conjunction with ENASE 2026, ICEIS 2026, ICT4AWE 2026, IoTBDS 2026, CLOSER 2026, FEMIB 2026, and IMPROVE 2026. The event is aimed at professionals and researchers from academia, industry, and government sectors, focusing on the intersection of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

The conference program features original contributions on various aspects of GIS and technologies, including data acquisition and processing, sensing, spatial data mining and computation, spatial data analysis and management, artificial intelligence and learning, interacting with data, modelling, representation, and visualization, domain applications, and societal impacts. The event will be held in a hybrid format, with the option for speakers to present remotely if unable to travel to the venue.

Keynote speakers include Peter Scarth from the University of Queensland, Australia, Gregory Giuliani from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and Dimitris Poursanidis from the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas, Greece. Special sessions and tutorials are also part of the program, including the Internet of AI Things (IoAT) for Geo-Spatial Intelligence and Sustainable Earth Systems, Living Earth, and 3D Machine Learning for Spatial AI Systems. The conference proceedings will be published by Springer in a CCIS Series book and submitted for indexing by Web of Science/Conference Proceedings Citation Index.
