Asia Zirconia & Advanced Ceramics Forum (YAZHU) is the longest-running technical gathering dedicated to zirconium chemicals, zirconia powders, and advanced ceramic components in China. The 2024 edition is scheduled for 28-30 May in Foshan, Guangdong, and will be held in-person with simultaneous Mandarin-English interpretation. Organised by Julang Exhibition, the three-day programme attracts 400-plus delegates spanning raw-material miners, chemical processors, ceramic manufacturers, battery and electronics firms, investment analysts, and university labs. The opening plenary reviews global zircon supply security, price trajectories, and the impact of new projects in Australia, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Day one continues with parallel tracks on high-purity zirconia for biomedical implants, optical coatings, and solid-oxide fuel cells; fused and stabilised zirconia for refractory linings; and nano-zirconia surface modification for lithium-ion battery separators. Day two pivots to advanced ceramics: silicon-nitride hybrid bearings, zirconia-toughened alumina for semiconductor chucks, and translucent zirconia dental blanks. A dedicated session explores China’s new emission standards for zirconium chemical plants and the shift to solvent-free powder synthesis. The final morning is reserved for additive manufacturing, with case studies on stereolithography and digital-light-processing of zirconia slurries, followed by a tour of a local 5,000 t/year zirconia injection-moulding facility. Poster stations and 30 tabletop exhibits run continuously, showcasing zirconium oxychloride, yttria-stabilised beads, ceramic 3-D printers, and isostatic presses. Keynote speakers confirmed include Prof. J. Wang, Wuhan University of Technology, on metastable tetragonal zirconia; Dr. M. Thompson, Iluka Resources, on mineral-sands feedstock trends; and Dr. L. Zhang, Sinoma Advanced Materials, on 8-mol yttria thermal-barrier coatings. An evening reception and the annual “Zirconia Technology Awards” recognise breakthroughs in fracture toughness and cost reduction. Registration fees cover lunches, proceedings PDF, and shuttle buses between hotels and the venue.
