China’s leading trade fair for the power-electronics industry returns to Xi’an International Convention Center from 13-15 May. The Xi’an International Power Electronics Exhibition, now in its 14th edition, brings together more than 600 brands from 18 countries to showcase the full value chain: power semiconductor devices, wide-band-gap SiC/GaN wafers, power modules, driver ICs, passive components, thermal management, EMC filtering, test equipment and turnkey motion-control solutions. The 2024 show floor is organised into six thematic sectors: industrial power supplies, smart-grid & energy-storage, EV fast-charging, rail traction, aerospace and medical power supplies. Organisers expect 28 000 professional visitors, 42 % of whom hold purchasing authority exceeding one million RMB.
A 90-minute opening keynote track features CTOs of Infineon, BYD Semiconductor, China State Grid and CRRC Zhuzhou who will share road-maps on 8 kW OBC architectures, 3.3 kV SiC MOSFETs and megawatt-class solid-state transformers. The concurrent Technical Forum hosts 120 peer-reviewed papers and 18 tutorials covering gate-driver reliability, EMI mitigation and digital-twin modelling. New for 2024 is the Wide-Band-Gap Demo Zone where 40 companies will run live comparisons of 650 V SiC devices versus silicon IGBTs under 175 °C ambient. A recruitment pavilion staffed by Xi’an Jiaotong University and Xidian University will match post-graduate engineers with exhibiting companies.
The exhibition is held in-person only; badges are issued after real-name verification and include free access to all conference sessions and the two-day match-making platform that pre-schedules 1 600 supplier-buyer meetings. International visitors receive visa-support letters within 48 hours. The venue is located 30 minutes by metro from Xi’an Xianyang Airport; a free shuttle bus loops every 20 minutes between the exhibition halls and the high-speed North Railway Station. The event closes on 15 May with a guided tour to the world’s first 750 kV controllable-shunt reactor station in nearby Weinan, demonstrating live grid-scale power-electronics applications.
