The International Data Center Expo (IDCE) is China’s largest annual gathering for data-center infrastructure, cloud computing, edge computing, and ICT energy management. Organised by the China Electronics Energy Conservation Technology Association Data-Center Committee, the 2024 edition will be staged in Beijing from 6–8 November. The show runs in parallel with the China Data-Center Conference (CDCC), attracting more than 40 000 engineers, facility managers, CIOs, colocation providers, telecom carriers, government regulators, and investors. The three-day programme combines a 30 000 m² exhibition with 120 technical sessions, live product launches, and three invitation-only summits on AI cooling, lithium-battery safety, and intelligent power. Keynote speakers confirmed for 2024 include Liang Zhen, vice-chair of the National Data-Center Expert Committee; Zhang Xiaoqiang, chief architect of Alibaba Cloud Infrastructure; Wang Quan, vice-president of Tencent Data-Center; and Zhang Guangheng, senior director of China Telecom Cloud. Panel tracks focus on liquid-cooling deployment at scale, 800 G optical switching, prefabricated modular data halls, AI workload optimisation, carbon-intensity metrics, and the new GB 40879 energy-efficiency standard that becomes mandatory in 2025. The exhibition hosts 450 vendors across six zones: critical power, precision cooling, cabling and racks, monitoring & fire suppression, edge micro-modules, and cloud-network services. First-time highlights include an immersion-cooling demo wall, a live lithium-battery abuse test, and an AI-powered DCIM sandbox. Academic and user-case theatres present peer-reviewed papers from Tsinghua University, Huawei’s Noah’s Ark Lab, and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology. The concurrent China Data-Center Innovation Awards will recognise projects with annual PUE below 1.15 and WUE below 0.8. Registration is free for trade visitors; the conference pass grants access to proceedings, lunches, and shuttle buses between hotels and the venue. The language of the event is Chinese with simultaneous interpretation to English in the main plenary hall.
