IB Expo 2024, the largest annual ICT exhibition and forum in Central Asia, will be held on 25-27 September at the UzExpoCentre in Tashkent. Organised by the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the IT-Park and the Chamber of Commerce, the event is positioned as the national digital-transformation platform and expects more than 12,000 in-person visitors and 30,000 online views from 30 countries. The three-day programme combines a trade exhibition, a conference, start-up pitch battles, a government procurement road-show and a hands-on demo zone for AI, robotics and green data-centre solutions. This year’s slogan is “Digital Uzbekistan – From Strategy to Reality”, reflecting the country’s ambition to raise the digital economy’s share of GDP to 40 % by 2030. The conference track is split into eight verticals: e-government, fintech & e-commerce, Industry 4.0, cyber-security, smart city, agritech, edutech and healthtech. Each vertical is opened by a ministerial keynote followed by panel discussions, case studies and UN-style “digital accord” round tables where regulators, donors and business agree on measurable deliverables for 2025. Confirmed speakers include Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies; Takashi Kitaoka, VP of NEC Corporation; Anete Eksina, Head of Central Asia at Huawei; Victoria Kuksina, CIS Director at Kaspersky; and Bakhtiyor Fazilov, founder of Alif Bank. International financial institutions are represented by representatives of the World Bank, EBRD and AIIB who will present a new US$ 200 million digital-infrastructure credit line. A dedicated start-up alley hosts 120 Uzbek and 60 foreign teams competing for US$ 1 million in grants and venture prizes; finalists pitch on the main stage on day three. Parallel certification workshops offer AWS, Cisco, Huawei and Scrum training free of charge, while schoolchildren can join an Hour-of-Code festival. The exhibition hall covers 14,000 m² and is sold out; national pavilions are mounted by China, South Korea, Japan, Germany, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. The organisers emphasise that IB Expo is open to CIOs, CTOs, system integrators, telecom operators, software vendors, government procurement officers, investors and NGOs seeking PPP projects.
