China Inter Lubric is Asia’s largest and most authoritative lubricants and metal-working fluids exhibition. Scheduled every September at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, the 2024 edition will occupy 40 000 m² and unite 600 exhibitors from 20 countries. The show is owned by Sinomach and co-organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Ministry of Commerce and the German association VDMA, guaranteeing both political weight and global reach. Visitors—expected to exceed 35 000—come from vehicle OEMs, steel mills, aerospace plants, wind and marine engineering firms, independent workshops and chemical distributors. They attend to source base oils, additives, greases, process fluids, testing rigs, filling lines, condition-monitoring software and recycling services. The concurrent Congress runs a three-day technical programme with more than 80 papers. Keynote slots in 2023 were delivered by Prof. Liu Weimin of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on ultra-low-friction ionic liquids, Dr. Martin Schabinger of BASF on e-mobility thermal fluids, and Mr. Tom Curtis of API on the new SP/GF-6B global specification. Parallel tracks cover emission-neutral additive chemistries, biodegradable hydraulic fluids, PAO/ester base-stock supply security, condition monitoring with embedded sensors, and China’s coming G7 vapour-pressure regulation. A dedicated “New Energy Vehicle Lubricants Forum” is co-hosted by CATARC and SAE-China, while a “Wind Turbine Service Workshop” is certified by the Global Wind Organisation for technician safety training. The Innovation Awards, judged by the China Lubricant Association, will recognise the best product, packaging and sustainability initiative. The 2024 show will again feature live machinery demonstrations: five-axis CNCs cutting Inconel with minimum-quantity lubrication, a 1 MW gearbox test rig running 24-hour oil-drain intervals, and autonomous robots applying food-grade grease on a simulated beverage line. Networking events include a buyers’ match-making app that pre-schedules 1 500 meetings, a gala dinner on the Huangpu River and daily “technical corners” where visitors can bring used samples for on-site ferrography. The event is strictly in-person; no virtual passes are offered.
