INVIVA – the special “Fit & Vital” hall at Freizeitmesse München – is Germany’s largest public exhibition for healthy ageing and active senior living. Spread across more than 5,000 m² of floor space, the themed hall brings together more than 120 specialist suppliers of products and services for people aged 50-plus. The 2025 edition will run from 12 to 16 February in the Messe München halls and is expected to attract over 50,000 visitors. The format is strictly in-person; entry is included in the regular Freizeitmesse day ticket. Core topics are preventive health, fitness, nutrition, mental well-being, travel tailored to older guests, finances, housing and lifestyle. A 360° stage programme, held several times a day, offers short, practical lectures by physicians, sports scientists, nutritionists and motivational coaches. Confirmed speakers for 2025 include sports physician Prof. Dr. Klaus Pfeifer on “Strength training against sarcopenia”, nutritionist Stiftung Warentest author Silke Noll on “Supplements – useful or superfluous?”, dementia researcher Prof. Dr. Tobias Hartmann on “Alzheimer prevention in everyday life”, and Olympic coach Anja Händle on “Fascia training for 60-plus”. Parallel to the talks, visitors can test the latest equipment in a 1,000 m² activity park: e-bikes, elliptical trainers, vibration plates, exergaming stations and back-training machines are available free of charge under professional supervision. A highlight is the “INVIVA Health Check Lane”, where medical students from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität offer validated screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, lung function and grip strength within 15 minutes and give personal risk profiles. Around 40 certified personal trainers and physiotherapists provide mini-group sessions on fall prevention, pelvic-floor training and Nordic walking technique. Travel agencies specialising in senior-friendly hiking, cycling and cultural tours present their programmes at the “Best-Ager Travel World” and give short presentations on safe solo travel and travelling with pre-existing conditions. Financial and legal experts advise on pension optimisation, living wills and age-appropriate real-estate financing. The accompanying “INVIVA Innovation Award” honours start-ups whose products demonstrably improve quality of life in old age; the 2025 finalists include a smart insole that analyses gait and a VR fall-prevention training system.
