IoT Expo 2025, staged 16-18 September at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, is Asia’s flagship gathering for the industrial Internet of Things. The three-day exhibition and concurrent conference attract 120,000 m² of floor space, 800 exhibitors and 120,000 professional visitors from manufacturing, logistics, energy, automotive, healthcare and smart-city authorities. The 2025 edition is positioned as a one-stop procurement and knowledge platform covering the full stack of IoT: sensors, RFID, embedded systems, 5G communication modules, edge computing hardware, industrial gateways, PaaS/SaaS platforms, AI analytics, cyber-security and complete end-to-end solutions. A real-time demonstration zone will run live digital-twin factories, autonomous mobile robots and low-power wide-area networks.

The congress programme is split into two parallel streams. The “IoT Innovation Summit” features 150 keynote and panel sessions led by chief digital officers of Bosch, Siemens, Huawei, China Mobile, ABB, SAP, Ericsson and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology. Core themes include 5G-A and RedCap deployment, industrial Wi-Fi 7, TSN Ethernet, satellite IoT backhaul, energy-harvesting sensors, AIoT at the edge, open-source operating systems, data-space governance and cyber-resilience for critical infrastructure. A second stream, the “Embedded Intelligence Forum,” drills down on RISC-V chips, secure boot, OTA updates and functional-safety certification for medical and automotive devices.

New for 2025 are a start-up pitch contest with USD 1 million venture prizes, an “IoT Procurement Festival” giving volume buyers direct access to factory pricing, and on-site labs where attendees can earn certificates in LoRaWAN, OPC UA and MQTT implementation. The event is co-located with the China International Industry Fair and remains strictly in-person; no virtual passes are offered. Registration is free for trade visitors prior to 31 August, with fees applying only for the congress sessions.
