KoreaLab is the largest annual laboratory technology exhibition and conference in Korea, bringing together researchers, manufacturers, distributors, regulators and end-users from every segment of the analytical, life-science, clinical and diagnostics markets. The 2024 edition will be held 16-19 April at the Korea International Exhibition Center in Goyang, occupying six halls and more than 35,000 m² of floor space. Organised by the Korea Analytical Instruments Industry Cooperative and Kyungyon Exhibition Corp., the show is delivered in a fully in-person format and expects 25,000 visitors and 550 exhibitors. The concurrent scientific programme is structured into three tracks: the International Conference on Analytical Science & Instrumentation, the Clinical Lab Leaders Forum and the Bio-Lab Safety & Regulatory Briefings. Plenary speakers confirmed for 2024 include Prof. Richard Mathies from UC Berkeley on single-cell Raman spectroscopy, Dr. Kyoung-Min Lim of the KFDA on next-generation sequencing regulation, and Dr. Sun-Young Lee of Seoul National University Hospital on AI-driven clinical decision support. Technical workshops will cover updates to ISO 17025, implementation of the K-REACH chemical safety rules, and validation of rapid sterility tests for cell-therapy products. A new “Start-up & University Demo Zone” will provide 40 young companies and academic spin-offs with free bench-top space and pitching sessions. The exhibition sectors span analytical instruments, chromatography columns, mass-spectrometry consumables, bioreactors, clean-room equipment, reference standards, LIMS software and laboratory furniture. Daily product theatres on the show floor will highlight launches such as a triple-quadrupole ICP-MS optimised for trace metals in semiconductor chemicals, a compact Raman microscope for pharmaceutical polymorphism screening and a fully automated nucleic-acid extraction robot capable of 2,000 samples per day. KoreaLab also hosts the National Research Foundation’s “Research Equipment Sharing Fair”, where universities and public institutes present surplus analytical time and seek industry collaboration.
