The 30th edition of miart, scheduled for April 17-19, 2026, will take place at the Allianz MiCo's South Wing. The event, titled New Directions, celebrates this milestone by embracing change and innovation. The fair will pay homage to the 100th anniversary of the birth of American musicians John Coltrane and Miles Davis, highlighting the jazz genre's ability to transform known standards into fertile ground for innovation. The title New Directions is inspired by Coltrane's 1963 album, but also serves as a statement of intent.

miart 2026 will undergo a transformation, affecting its curatorial content, dialogue with galleries, image coordination, and visitor experience. The fair will explore new models of collecting, emerging technologies, and more fluid dynamics between artists, galleries, and institutions. This change comes as the art market evolves, and the event aims to assert and question its systems.

The fair will feature three main sections: Established, Emerging, and Movements: Moving images. Established will showcase established realities that have influenced international art, from 20th-century avant-garde to contemporary visions. Emerging will be dedicated to experimentation and new voices in contemporary art, focusing on installation practices, personal research, and dialogue between emerging artists. Movements: Moving images will explore the poetic and experimental language of video and artist film, developed in collaboration with the St. Moritz Art Film Festival.

The event will feature 160 galleries from 24 countries, making it one of the primary international art fairs. The fair's layout will be renewed, with both historic and new perspectives being showcased. The event will also include a campaign to promote the fair's new identity and its focus on the future.
