The 5th annual CRU Nitrogen + Syngas USA Expoconference took place in Dallas, Texas, from 21 to 23 April 2026, gathering more than 100 plant operators, 60 industry speakers and over 90 exhibitors. Designed specifically for process, mechanical, maintenance and reliability engineers—the backbone of ammonia, methanol, hydrogen, syngas and urea production—the event delivered a dual‑stream technical agenda that combined discussions, clinics and field‑tested case studies. Twenty‑four technical presentations addressed critical plant‑management topics, while two industry panels and the inaugural Industry Open Forum on “Managing Turnarounds Across the Nitrogen + Syngas Chain” facilitated peer‑to‑peer problem solving. Nine intensive training workshops offered hands‑on learning, and all sessions were officially CPE‑accredited, allowing attendees to claim continuing professional education points.

The program emphasized practical takeaways: troubleshooting strategies, best‑practice lessons learned from turnarounds, incidents and near‑misses; application of new technology, equipment and materials to boost safety, reliability, efficiency and productivity; and risk‑identification techniques to prevent unplanned shutdowns. Speakers—representing leading firms such as KBR, LSB, Chevron, Topsoe, Stamicarbon, Koch, Nutrien, Fertilizer, BD and others—shared real‑world experiences and proven solutions that can be directly implemented in plant operations. The exhibition floor showcased world‑class solution providers, enabling attendees to explore the latest innovations and forge vendor relationships.

Key objectives of the conference were to foster knowledge exchange among operators and technical experts, develop best practices for operations, reliability and maintenance, and support investment decisions for new builds, revamps or performance optimisation. Participants left with actionable strategies to improve equipment life, enhance environmental performance and transform maintenance culture, while expanding their professional network with peers who understand the same operational challenges.

The event’s success set the stage for the next edition, scheduled for 6 to 8 April 2027 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, continuing CRU’s proven track record of delivering a one‑stop‑shop for networking, professional development and the latest advancements in nitrogen and syngas processing.
