The 2024 China International Optoelectronic Exposition, staged 11-13 September at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, is Asia’s largest and the world’s most comprehensive optoelectronics gathering. Under the theme “Light Empowering the Intelligent Future,” the 25th edition occupies 160,000 m² and unites 3,700 exhibitors with 120,000 professional visitors from telecom, consumer electronics, automotive, defence, medical, energy and R&D institutes. The show is co-located with the CIOE Optoelectronic Sensor Exhibition, CIOE Information & Communication Exhibition, CIOE Infrared Application Exhibition, CIOE Laser Technology & Intelligent Manufacturing Exhibition, CIOE Precision Optics & Camera Module Exhibition, and the newly launched CIOE Computational Imaging Exhibition, creating seven parallel vertical markets under one roof. A three-day congress runs alongside, featuring 90 forums and 800 talks. Highlights include the plenary “6G Optical Networks Summit,” “Lidar Technology & Application Congress,” “AR/VR Optical Innovation Summit,” “Mini/Micro LED Display Tech Days,” and the “International Optoelectronics Industry CEO Summit,” where executives from Huawei, ZTE, Nokia Bell, Luxshare, Sunny Optical, OFS, II-VI, Thorlabs, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences will debate roadmap challenges. Technical short courses on silicon photonics, wafer-level optics, and femtosecond laser processing grant IEEE and SPIE continuing-education credits. The 2024 debut of the Global Optoelectronics Award will present trophies for breakthrough products in space optics, biophotonics, and green photonics. An on-site job fair, 3,000 m² demo zone for autonomous-driving sensors, and match-making app offering 8,000 pre-arranged buyer-supplier meetings reinforce the exhibition’s role as a deal-making platform. The event is physically hosted in Shenzhen with simultaneous bilingual live-streaming for overseas delegates unable to obtain visas. Admission is trade-only; pre-registration closes 31 August.
