Pet Fair Asia is the largest companion-animal trade gathering in the Asia-Pacific region and will take place 21-25 August 2024 at the China Import & Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou. Organised by the China Pet Products Association and VNU Exhibitions Asia, the show expects more than 1,000 exhibitors and 50,000 professional visitors from 50-plus countries. The event is strictly business-to-business and targets pet-food manufacturers, treat and supplement formulators, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, veterinary clinics, grooming salons, e-commerce platforms, importers, investors and trade media. The exhibition floor is divided into National Pavilions, Pet Food & Treats, Pet Supplies & Accessories, Aquatics & Small Mammals, Smart Pet Tech, Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals, and Grooming & Spa zones. New-product launches, live demonstrations and on-site sampling run throughout the five days. The concurrent conference programme, China Pet Industry Summit, features 120 speakers across 15 themed forums. Confirmed keynotes include Dr. Xu Hu, president of the China Pet Products Association; Dr. Manny Koka, global nutrition lead at Mars Petcare; Mr. Eric Hsu, vice-president of Royal Canin APAC; Ms. Li Qian, founder of pet-tech start-up PetKit; and Dr. Karen Shen, chief veterinary officer of JD Pet Health. Topics range from ingredient innovation, sustainable packaging and functional nutrition to omni-channel retail, cross-border e-commerce, veterinary tele-medicine and pet-friendly city planning. A dedicated “Future of Pet Tech” track will explore AI-driven health monitoring, smart feeders and genetic testing. The event is held in-person only; no virtual component is offered. Side activities include the Asia Grooming Championship, the Global Pet Food Innovation Awards, the Aquascaping Masters Contest and a match-making programme that pre-schedules one-on-one meetings between suppliers and top buyers. Shuttle buses connect major downtown hotels with the fairground every 30 minutes. Admission is free for pre-registered trade visitors; on-site registration closes at 16:00 on the final day.
