PTC ASIA – Power Transmission and Control Asia – is the leading trade fair for hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical power transmission, held every even-numbered October in Shanghai. Organised by Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai, the 2024 edition will run 24-27 October at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, expecting 1,600 exhibitors and 100,000 visitors from 80 countries. The four-day show occupies ten halls and is strictly in-person; no virtual option is offered. The target audience is OEMs, system integrators, distributors, plant engineers and maintenance managers serving automotive, logistics, energy, construction, metallurgy, maritime and food-processing sectors. The 2024 slogan “Driving the Future of Motion” reflects a focus on energy-efficient, connected and compact drive trains. Core topics include high-pressure hydraulics for electrified machines, low-noise gear motors, condition-monitoring sensors, servo pneumatics, lightweight couplings, biodegradable fluids, safety components for collaborative robots, and digital twins for predictive maintenance. A keynote theatre hosts 60 technical presentations: Bosch Rexroth will unveil its new eLION inverter platform, Parker Hannifin will compare aluminium versus composite air-line systems, and SEW Eurodrive will outline decentralised drives for intra-logistics. The concurrent “Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Workshop” on 25 October gathers Linde, Cummins and Shanghai Hydrogen Propulsion to discuss 700-bar valve blocks and high-speed compressors. First-time features for 2024 include the “Young Engineer Podium” where post-graduates pitch research to investors, and the “Sourcing Matchmaking” app that pre-schedules buyer-supplier meetings. Returning areas are the Hydraulics Innovation Park, the Smart Pneumatics Zone, the Bearing & Sealing Alley and the University Pavilion led by Tongji and Zhejiang University. Entrance is ticketed; holders of pre-registered badges can ride the free shuttle from Longyang Road station and download the show app for hall navigation and live agenda updates.
