The 2024 edition of the Recycling and Waste Management Exhibition and Conference (RAWMEC) was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Nasser Yassin, Minister of Environment, Lebanon. The event serves as a meeting point for industry leaders, technology providers, policy makers, government agencies, NGOs, and investors to advance scalable solutions and build partnerships across the waste and sustainability value chain. RAWMEC is Lebanon's only dedicated exhibition and conference for recycling, waste management, and sustainable energy, driving business growth, innovation, and policy alignment, supporting Lebanon's transition toward a circular, low-carbon economy.

The conference features a range of speakers, including Dr. Firas Fayssal, Environmental, Sustainability & Energy Conservation Expert, and Ahmad Al Sayed, General Manager of IBC S.A.L. Other notable speakers include Dr. Rana Sawaya, Environmental and Social Consultant, and Pierre Baaklini, Chief Executive Officer of Lebanon Waste Management. The conference program includes key topics such as waste management in Lebanon, non-conventional waste treatment technologies, integrated waste management solutions, recycling and waste-to-energy to reduce landfilling, ash treatment and final disposal, waste management in the petroleum industry, medical waste management, and energy from waste.
