Security Building 2023 is Kazakhstan’s largest annual trade forum for professionals who design, build and maintain the physical and cyber security of critical infrastructure, commercial real estate and smart cities. Organised by Almaty-based Iteca Exhibitions, the two-day, in-person event will take place on 27–28 September at the Atakent Exhibition Centre, Almaty. The exhibition hall will host 120 Kazakh and international brands displaying perimeter protection, video surveillance, access control, fire and gas suppression, cybersecurity software, drones, body armour and emergency-rescue equipment. Parallel to the expo, a four-stream conference programme will run, certified by the Union of Engineers of Kazakhstan for continuing professional development. Day 1 opens with a plenary on national security policy, featuring the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, the Chairman of the Committee of Emergency Situations and the Head of the State Technical Service. Subsequent sessions drill into digital transformation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, cyber-resilience of industrial control systems, and the new Technical Regulation on Fire Safety that enters into force in 2024. Day 2 is devoted to safe cities and critical infrastructure: architects will debate how to embed security into BIM models, while telecom operators will showcase 5G-based video analytics and drone detection. A separate stream is reserved for data-centre and banking CISOs, with case studies on zero-trust architecture and ransomware containment. Over 50 speakers are confirmed, including Huawei Kazakhstan Chief Technology Officer, Kaspersky Lab ICS CERT Lead, Johnson Controls Regional Director, and the Secretary General of the Security Industry Association Singapore. The organisers expect 2,500 visitors: facility managers of oil & gas, power and transport companies, system integrators, chief security officers of retail chains, hotel groups and banks, as well as municipal officials responsible for safe-city projects. A match-making platform launched two weeks before the event automatically schedules one-to-one meetings between certified buyers and vendors. On the afternoon of 28 September, a live demonstration area outside the pavilion will stage forced-entry tests on bullet-proof doors, thermal-camera drone flights, and a 5-minute fire-suppression drill using condensed aerosol generators. Participation is free after online pre-registration; expo-only badges are issued instantly, while conference
