Sigep China is the first overseas edition of the 43-year-old Italian show dedicated to artisan gelato, pastry, bakery and coffee. Scheduled from 21 to 23 May 2025 at the China Import & Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, the three-day business-to-business exhibition is co-organised by Italian Exhibition Group and Beijing Huiyue Technology, aiming to replicate the success of Rimini’s flagship fair by creating a dedicated marketplace for the whole Ho.Re.Ca. and food-service community in Asia-Pacific. More than 300 domestic and international brands are expected to occupy 30,000 sqm of net space, showcasing ingredients, semi-finished products, machinery, furniture, packaging and services for gelato parlours, pastry shops, bakeries and cafés. A parallel programme of technical demonstrations, masterclasses and competitions will run on four themed stages: Gelato Arena, Pastry Arena, Bakery Arena and Coffee Arena. Highlights include the Asian final of the Gelato World Cup, the Sigep China Gelato Competition, the China Pastry Cup and the Bakery Championship, judged by teams of global champions and certified by the Italian Pastry, Gelato and Bakery Federations. Educational content is curated for entrepreneurs, chefs, R&D managers and distributors who want to master trends such as plant-based gelato, low-sugar pastry, sourdough fast-track systems and specialty coffee extraction. Daily tasting tours, sensory workshops and match-making sessions connect suppliers with importers, franchise chains and hospitality investors from second- and third-tier Chinese cities. The event is open to trade visitors only; admission requires pre-registration and on-site identity verification. Simultaneous translation between Chinese, English and Italian is provided in all theatres.
