SMARTGREENS 2026 is an international conference focused on Smart Cities and Green ICT Systems, bringing together researchers, designers, developers, and practitioners from the area of energy engineering and ICT. The event is organized by INSTICC, a member of various organizations, and will be held in conjunction with CSEDU 2026, VEHITS 2026, and CLOSER 2026. The conference is held in a hybrid format, allowing speakers to present remotely if unable to travel to the venue. Registration to SMARTGREENS grants access to the other conferences as a non-speaker.
The conference features six main areas: Energy-Aware Systems and Technologies, Smart and Digital Services, Smart Cities, Smart Infrastructures and Smart Buildings, Sustainable Computing and Systems, and Energy Engineering. Keynote speakers include Miguel A. Sotelo and Soteris Kalogirou, while the program committee is chaired by Francesco Calise and Cornel Klein.
SMARTGREENS 2026 will feature various special sessions, including Smart and Renewable Energy Networks for the Net Zero Emission Scenario, Navigating Challenges of Renewable Energy Communities, and EU-Funded Research for Smart Cities and Green ICT: Project Showcase. The conference will also host tutorials, demos, panels, and a publication of proceedings in the SCITEPRESS Digital Library and a CCIS Series book with Springer.
The conference will take place in a location yet to be determined, with information on the region, city, and venue to be provided separately. Accommodation and travel information, as well as visa requirements, will also be available. The conference is sponsored by INSTICC and its partners, with proceedings submitted for evaluation for indexing by Web of Science/Conference Proceedings Citation Index.
