The 2026 Tacoma City Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K will take place on May 2-3, 2026, with registration now open. The event will feature a weekend of running with the Ghost of Tacoma on Saturday and the Tacoma City Marathon on Sunday, including a Marathon Relay, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and Kids 1K options. The event is open to runners of all levels, with a scenic, USATF-Certified and Boston Qualifying course that passes through Point Defiance Park and the Narrows Bridge with stunning views of the Puget Sound, Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges.

The event will kick off on Saturday with the 5K and 10K at 8:00 am, followed by the Ghost of Tacoma Marathon and Half Marathon at 9:00 am, and the Kids 1K at 9:30 am. On Sunday, the Marathon and Half Marathon will start at 7:30 am and take runners across the Narrows Bridge and finishing at Dune Peninsula Park, a picturesque waterfront neighborhood with panoramic views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges.

The event will also feature a 20 Year Marathon Maniac Reunion, with festivities taking place on Friday, April 28th, and Saturday, April 29th, including a 2-mile shakeout run, socializing, and dinner at local restaurants. The event will also include medal and swag packet pickup, a day-of-race schedule, and awards for participants.

Registration includes a medal, tech shirt, or tri-blend shirt, and a collective bib, with optional merchandise available for purchase. Discounts are available for teams of 4, 10, and 15, and a $40 discount is available for participants who register for the Ghost of Tacoma and the Sunday Marathon or Half Marathon.

The event will also feature Bronze and Event Sponsors, including Grit City Hounds, Medical Services and Hydration Therapy, and a portion of the proceeds will go towards the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County.
