The From Efficiency to Excellence: A Focus on Quality Improvement symposium is a conference that brings together leading voices in anesthesiology to explore quality improvement strategies for safer and more effective preoperative care. The event targets anesthesiologists, anesthesiology professionals, and healthcare providers interested in enhancing care delivery and improving team communication. The symposium will cover key areas including patient safety, crisis response, pediatric anesthesia quality improvement, and optimizing OR management. Practical approaches to improving care delivery and driving meaningful change in the OR and beyond will be examined. The event is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, offering 4.5 hours of Simulation Activity credits and 8.0 hours of Group Learning Activity credits. The program is directed by Diana Tamir, MD, FRCPC, a lecturer at the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Management at Toronto General Hospital, and Clinical Director of the Acute Pain Service at the University Health Network. The symposium will take place at the Chestnut Conference Centre in Toronto, ON, with attendees able to participate in-person or synchronously online.
