Vietnam Manufacturing Expo, held annually in September at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, is the country’s longest-running and most comprehensive exhibition for supporting industries, factory automation, plastics and rubber, and smart manufacturing. The 2024 edition expects 18,000 industrial buyers, engineers, plant managers, and procurement directors from automotive, electronics, food & beverage, textiles, and packaging sectors looking to source precision metalworking, mould & die, surface treatment, automation, digitalisation, and energy-saving solutions. Over 500 brands from Japan, Thailand, China, South Korea, Singapore, and Vietnam will occupy 10,000 sqm of net space, among them Yamaha Motor, Misumi, SMC, Fuji Electric, Panasonic, OMRON, Keyence, Yaskawa, THK, NT Tool, Sodick, Mazak, DMG MORI, and local pioneers such as VinFast suppliers. The conference programme features 60 technical seminars and 3 high-level forums. The Supporting Industry Forum brings Japanese and Vietnamese sub-contractors together with multinationals to discuss “Design for Manufacturing” and “Quality Assurance in Global Supply Chains.” The Smart Manufacturing Forum focuses on Industry 4.0 adoption for SMEs, covering predictive maintenance, digital twins, and cybersecurity. The Plastic & Rubber Conference explores biopolymers, recycling technologies, and energy-efficient injection moulding. Keynote speakers include Mr. Nguyen Phuong Dong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, Mr. Hideo Oba, Chief Representative of JETRO Ho Chi Minh, and Mr. Pham Tuan Anh, Head of Technology at Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park. Live demonstration zones let visitors inspect collaborative robots, AGVs, 3D metal printers, ultrasonic welding, and AI-based vision inspection systems in action. A dedicated “Japanese Pavilion” and “Technology Transfer Corner” facilitate one-on-one business matching; last year 1,200 meetings generated US$120 million in quoted projects. Entrance is free after online pre-registration; the concurrent “Factory Tour” visits Bosch, Nestlé, and Nidec plants.
